Location: Kronoberg, on-site Start: ASAP Term: 12 months, with the possibility of extension Assignment type: Consulting/ freelance assignment We are looking for a Test & Development Engineer for a product development team in Kronoberg, working with energy-efficient technology based on refrigeration and heat pump principles. The team is currently developing the next generation of energy-efficient product, where heat pump technology is used to recover and reuse heat within the system rather than continuously heating incoming air. The technology has strong similarities to systems used in refrigeration, heat pumps, air conditioning and dehumidification. You will join a small and experienced development team and work hands-on with products that are currently in the development and verification phase. The main focus will be on testing, analysis and understanding product behavior, rather than designing completely new systems. The role This is not a traditional test role where you simply execute predefined test cases and report the results. We are looking for someone with the technical understanding to recognize when a system is behaving unexpectedly, investigate why and communicate the findings to the development team. You will work close to the physical product in a laboratory and development environment, collecting and analyzing data and evaluating how the system behaves under different conditions. Your responsibilities may include: Planning and performing tests on products and heat pump/refrigeration systems Collecting, analyzing and interpreting measurement data Identifying unexpected behavior, deviations and potential technical issues Understanding how changes in the system affect overall product performance Supporting troubleshooting and root cause analysis Performing software updates and verifying system behavior Documenting and presenting test results and technical findings Working closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineers during product development

PEU (Product Engineering Unit) RAN Performance Layer 2 UPC Software is a part of RAN SW & Compute Platforms Eng in BA Networks and is responsible for Baseband L2 product, quality and architecture in both EMCA and GPP. We are located mainly on different sites in Sweden, Canada, China and US. This position is located at the Stockholm Kista site. What you will do: As a member of the design team, you will be part of developing the User Plane Control Layer (L2) components of Ericsson’s Baseband software for our world leading 5G RAN and future 6G solutions. Contribute to baseband product development that focuses on systemization, design, testing, and troubleshooting. As you will be exposed to high-edge integrated and cloud RAN products. Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities. Implementation with production-based agentic flow systems. Learn industry best practices, agile ways of working, and state-of-the-art development environments applying new knowledge to improve product innovation. The skills you bring: Master’s degree or PhD in telecommunications, AI, signal processing, wireless communications, computer science, embedded. Strong foundation in C, C++, Python programming. Experience with Amazon-Q(Kiro-cli), Claude code or other AI code assistant tools, LLMs, AI agents, RAG architectures, vector databases, and AI orchestration frameworks is highly desirable. Collaborative and Creative mindset who can easily interact with people. Eagerness to learn, and the courage to take initiative and ownership. Familiarity with Wireless communication technologies (4G/5G), 3GPP/ORAN standards, and/or signal processing is a strong plus. ML and Gen AI Tools hands-on experience is a plus. Proven hands-on expertise in AI/ML and Generative AI technologies including prototype development and enterprise AI implementations.
