The Opportunity We are looking for a Lead Engineer - Plants who wants to take on a key role at HVDC in technical leadership in tenders and projects. You will have the responsibility to coordinate global teams with focus on Plants and Civil engineering design solutions and its interfaces for our onshore and offshore converter stations. As a Lead Engineer - Plants, you will drive strategic technical decision making, ensure that our design solutions meet customer requirements, quality standards and project goals. You interact with other stakeholders such as customers, contractors, supply chain and site team, contributing to the successful delivery of some of the world's most advanced energy infrastructure projects. The role is offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the global energy transition while working in a highly collaborative and international environment. We are looking for two Lead Engineers. Primary contact for technical communication with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. Drive completion of engineering activities in tenders and projects, working closely with technical leads, project managers, and interface managers. Manage technical risks and ensure compliance with quality, safety and engineering processes. Support installation and commissioning activities by providing expert technical guidance. Lead development of new technical solutions while interpreting customer’s needs and expectations. Take a strategic role in defining Plants and Civil solutions for onshore HVDC converter stations and offshore platforms. Coordinate engineering activities across key disciplines, including: Electromechanical Design Station Auxiliary Power Systems Civil Engineering Auxiliary Systems (eg Fire Protection, HVAC, Security Systems) Ensure effective coordination and management of interfaces between engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. Represent the Plants discipline in customer meetings, partner discussions, and technical reviews. Your Background Academic degree in Engineering (for example within Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related area) At least 5 years of engineering experience, including experience of leading technical teams, multidisciplinary engineering activities or complex projects is required. Experience within HVDC, transmission systems, substations, electrical power systems, offshore wind, or other large-scale energy infrastructure projects is highly valued. Strong technical understanding with the ability to quickly develop expertise in HVDC technology and systems. A collaborative and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders across functions and geographic locations. Strong leadership skills and the confidence to make technical decisions when required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical solutions in a clear and structured manner. Fluency in English, both verbally and written, is required. Other languages are an advantage. As a person, you are passionate about both people and technology. Control & Protection Engineer – HVDC Service

The Opportunity Do you want to develop advanced control and protection functions for some of the world's largest power transmission projects? As a Control & Protection Engineer, you will work with the development, configuration, and verification of control and protection applications for HVDC systems. Using graphical programming environments for real-time systems, you will design and implement functionality for control, monitoring, automation, and protection. You will be part of an international engineering team and work closely with system engineers, test engineers, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle. One of the most rewarding aspects of this role is the opportunity to follow your solutions from design and testing all the way to commissioning in real power transmission systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, learning new technologies, and collaborating with colleagues from different disciplines and cultures. How you’ll make an impact Develop control and protection applications using graphical programming tools. Configure real-time applications for HVDC control systems. Perform simulation, testing, and verification in laboratory environments. Participate in system testing, Factory System Tests (FST), and commissioning activities. Troubleshoot and improve functionality, performance, and control logic. Document functions, system solutions, and test results. Collaborate with system, network, cybersecurity, and site teams in global project environments. System Design Engineer

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems. Your responsibilities To successfully take on this position, you need to be thorough and structured with a high technical interest and strive for good solutions within the set time limits. You will be involved in projects, tenders, base and some R&D work. To grow with each task, enabling yourself to develop and take more and more responsibility. HVDC is a complex product, there is always more to learn. Your main task will be to study and verify the overvoltage protection scheme through simulations in PSCAD/EMTDC. Project/tender specific fault scenarios need to be investigated and the resulting overvoltage’s from the simulations will be input for equipment specifications and mechanical layout.
