Senior Software Developer - Platform Utilities & Upgrades (PU&U) Do you want to make the world a safer place while being part of a team that truly values experience and collaboration? Would you like to join a global and technically skilled team that plays an essential role in Verisure’s success? The platform organisation in Malmö develops and operates the software that underpins Verisure's alarm and smart home systems. We are responsible for the services that keep millions of connected devices online, upgradeable, and traceable, from the moment a device is manufactured until it is returned or decommissioned. About the roleAs a Senior Software Developer in Platform Utilities & Upgrades (PU&U), you will join a team of around 11 backend engineers building and operating a portfolio of internal platform services. These cover device lifecycle management (factory provisioning, firmware upgrades, SIM management) and internal operator and support tooling used daily by Verisure technicians and administrators. Several of these services run with 24/7 SLA requirements; device provisioning and support tooling are business-critical, always-on parts of the platform. You will design, build, and operate microservices spanning device lifecycle management, SIM connectivity, firmware/upgrade orchestration, and internal utility tooling. You will work closely with the team's Product Owner, fellow developers, and PU&U's external EMS partners to translate manufacturing and operational requirements into reliable software. You are expected to take technical ownership of parts of the system, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor less experienced developers. Our AI journey We are in the middle of a practical, progressive AI transformation, not chasing hype, but steadily embedding intelligence into how we build software and how we operate our platform. Our engineering teams are actively adopting AI-assisted development tools including GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, and we are rolling out a group-wide AIOps platform (built on AWS Bedrock) that already powers more than 25 use cases across 10+ countries. The device data PU&U manages, spanning millions of connected devices, is one of Verisure's core advantages in developing AI capabilities for detection, maintenance, and device operations. As a senior developer, you will have a voice in how your team adopts these tools, at a pace that makes sense. Senior Software Engineer
This is a hands-on senior engineering role at the heart of how Voyado Elevate understands products. As a subsystem team inspired by Team Topologies, you, Andreas and Maxim own our Classifier - the service that enriches every product feed with LLMs and maps it into our Knowledge Graph, powering search, recommendations, and navigation. You sit at the intersection of our search, recommendation, and ontology teams, and the team owns the technical roadmap. Right now that means scaling our LLM-based classification pipeline further into production while keeping a sharp eye on cost as data volumes grow. Customers are increasingly getting access to the classification data behind their search and recommendation results, so quality and explainability matter as much as speed. Next up: extending enrichment from text into images, one of our biggest technical bets in the roadmap. Day to day is a mix of two things: hands-on Java and LLM work to keep a demanding, cost-sensitive production system healthy, and architecture and roadmap discussions that shape where it goes next. We push to work agentically wherever it makes sense - using AI tools to move faster, not just to tick a box. Some of the things you'd be up to: Development, writing code in Java! ☕️ Centralize deep technical expertise within machine learning, knowledge graph structures, NLP, and LLM models Prompt Engineering Taking part in setting our technical roadmap Contribute to design discussions and architectural decisions, and make sure the service is built using best practices Create semantically enriched product classification, leveraging AI for automation, and deliver actionable product knowledge to stakeholders Drive innovation and continuous improvement through prototyping and evaluating new technologies And when the time comes when you need a break, why don't you spend some time in the gym, tinker in our puzzle corner or challenge our Åre office in Call of Duty on our PlayStation 5? 🎮 So, who are you? You're a senior developer who's more energized by solving hard problems at scale than by following a spec to the letter. You think about how a system performs and what it costs, not just whether it works in a demo, and you're comfortable owning a production service end to end: the trade-offs between precision and recall, speed and cost, automation and control. You can hold your own in architecture discussions with search, recommendation, and ontology stakeholders, and you're just as happy writing the code yourself as designing it. Besides those personal skills, we believe you have the following: A Master's degree in Computer Science, or a comparable industry career Experience working in cloud environments Experience with machine learning, knowledge graph structures, NLP, and LLM models And most importantly, passion for what you do If you are interested in algorithmic problem-solving, that's meritorious. Some of the technologies you’ll get to work with Java LLMs AWS Github Actions Co-pilot So, what's in it for you? 🍬 Voyado Elevate wouldn’t be the powerful platform it is without the people behind it. We care about you, and some examples of what we can offer you are: A lovely worksite in Lund, we just opened our Voyado house on Gasverksgatan. Flexible working hours and a hybrid work approach. We're on-site at least three days a week Work-life balance – We don't have a long work-hours culture; we value results over hours worked As we strive for our employees to share Voyado’s passions and goals, you should demand no less from us. With regular one-on-ones, we make sure your needs and career have a great future at Voyado Joining an engaged team and colleagues with a knowledge-sharing and friendly culture Some of our benefits: A health hour each week, use it for walks, running, or working out – whatever you need to energize Our own gym at the office 30 days of vacation so that you can spend time with family and friends 5000 SEK in wellness allowance Encouragement to further develop personally and professionally with certifications, meetups, etc. Beneficial bike lease, including e-bikes Your choice of phone and gadget package Be yourself 🏳️🌈 At Voyado, we believe in gender equality. We are proud sponsors of Womengineer as well as Tjejer Kodar! Read more about Tjejer Kodar & Voyado here Equality is not only about gender but also about making everyone feel welcome and heard in a multicultural and diverse environment, We at Voyado strive to make everyone feel like they can bring their true self to work every day.
