Senior Engineer
Senior Engineer Simployer · Stockholm · Full-time About the role As a Senior Engineer, you'll own the technical direction of your team's domain. You'll decide where the boundaries go, how services communicate, and how we know that what we ship works with the rest of the platform. You'll work in an autonomous team where you're trusted to shape the architecture, not just deliver on a spec. What you'll do Define, evolve and defend domain boundaries, aggregates and bounded contexts using domain-driven design, and make sure the model reflects how the business actually works. Design, build and operate event-driven flows in production, from event modelling and schema design to monitoring, failure handling and recovery. Introduce and maintain consumer-driven contract testing in CI so that teams can change their services with confidence that shared interfaces still hold. Investigate architectural alternatives, make decisions, and document and justify them (for example through ADRs), on your own initiative rather than waiting for a specification. Form and communicate a view on where your domain's architecture should go over the next year or two, and bring colleagues along with you. Pick up new technologies and patterns when the problem calls for it and take them all the way into production. What we're looking for Recent, hands-on experience applying domain-driven design in production systems, including owning decisions on boundaries and aggregates. Experience building and running event-driven architecture in production, not just consuming events built by others. A modern approach to testing, including practical experience with contract testing (e.g. Pact or similar) as part of a CI pipeline. A track record of making and owning architectural decisions independently, including in situations where requirements were unclear. Evidence that you learn new technology on your own and apply it in real work, without needing formal training or central guidance. Comfort taking ownership in an autonomous team and setting technical direction. About Simployer At Simployer – We simplify being a great employer! With +12 000 customers and 1.2 million users across our product lines, Simployer is the largest HRM cloud provider in Scandinavia. We are 300 employees across five cities in three countries. Senior Software Engineer
Do you want to be part of one of Sweden’s fastest-growing start-ups? Antrino Labs is a vision infrastructure company. We build AI architectures that let cameras understand actions, behavior, and context across time — moving video beyond surveillance into real-time, programmable sensing. Instead of cameras simply recording video, they can perform tasks in real time: detecting theft, identifying security risks, analyzing flows in stores and industries, and enabling organizations to act immediately when something happens. Video goes from something reviewed in retrospect to active, real-time decision support. This allows millions of existing cameras to become intelligent sensors that actively support businesses across retail, logistics, security, and public environments. Everything we build is based on Privacy by Design, with data protection and GDPR compliance integrated into the architecture. Our goal is to make advanced video intelligence powerful, scalable, and responsible. We recently closed our Seed Investment Round, announced together with Dagens Industri, and are now scaling to meet growing demand. The company is also certified through Inspektionen för strategiska produkter (ISP), reflecting the strategic nature of the technology we are building. The Role We are looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer who wants to play a key role in building the technical foundation behind our vision intelligence platform. You will work on complex software systems connecting cameras, AI models, real-time video streams, infrastructure, and user-facing applications. Your focus will be on designing and building reliable, scalable systems capable of supporting thousands of concurrent video streams and deployments across multiple customers and environments. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role. You will write production code, take ownership of technical decisions, contribute to system architecture, solve complex engineering problems, and help establish strong engineering standards as we scale. You will work closely with our AI, infrastructure, DevOps, and product teams to turn advanced AI capabilities into robust production systems. This is a full-time, permanent position (tillsvidareanställning) based in Sweden, with employment at 100% (40 hours per week). Your main responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable software systems and services Take technical ownership of key components from architecture to production Build robust APIs, backend services, and data architectures Develop systems handling large numbers of cameras, events, users, and real-time data streams Integrate AI models and inference pipelines into production systems Collaborate with AI, DevOps, and infrastructure engineers on deployment, reliability, observability, and performance Make architectural decisions focused on scalability, maintainability, security, and performance Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and complex production issues Design systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and efficient resource utilization Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, production-ready code Participate in code reviews and help establish strong engineering practices Improve internal tooling, testing, development workflows, and engineering productivity Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing Help shape the long-term technical direction of the platform as we scale Who are we looking for? Several years of professional software engineering experience building complex, production-grade systems Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing scalable architectures Strong experience with backend development, APIs, databases, and distributed systems Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages used in production environments Experience with databases, data modeling, caching, queues, and asynchronous processing Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or similar Understanding of Docker, CI/CD, and modern software deployment practices Strong understanding of system performance, scalability, reliability, and observability Experience with real-time systems, streaming architectures, video infrastructure, computer vision, or AI-powered applications is a strong advantage Experience with microservices or distributed architectures is an advantage Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions and balance speed, scalability, and maintainability Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently investigate complex technical challenges Experience taking technical ownership of systems or projects from design through production Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken; Swedish is a plus Personal qualities You are a driven engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems and taking ownership beyond individual tasks. You thrive in an environment where the product, architecture, and organization evolve quickly. Rather than simply implementing predefined specifications, you are comfortable understanding the underlying problem, challenging assumptions, proposing solutions, and taking responsibility for bringing them into production. You combine strong technical depth with pragmatism. You understand when systems need to be engineered for scale and reliability, but also when simplicity and speed are more important. You enjoy collaborating across AI, infrastructure, DevOps, product, and business and are comfortable contributing to architectural discussions while remaining hands-on with the code. At Antrino Labs, we value intellectual curiosity, technical excellence, ownership, speed, and collaboration. We are looking for someone who does not simply want to join an engineering team, but wants to help build the technology, engineering culture, and technical foundation of the company as we scale. Öppen för alla Vi fokuserar på din kompetens, inte dina övriga förutsättningar. Vi är öppna för att anpassa rollen eller arbetsplatsen efter dina behov.
