Senior Design Engineer
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Volvo Group, you will play an important role in developing future products. You will contribute to frame ladder development and act as the key point of contact within COT E for frame manufacturing matters related to Tuve Plant and our European frame rail suppliers. You will also drive the business logic and governance for frame holes and JointCalc within Product Class 24 and E4. You will also have the possibility to contribute to all concept development of the Chassis Structure area. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, analysts, and specialists both locally and globally. Your focus will be on improvements of the frame rail and hole group process, fasteners and designing new components and systems, while continuously improving the quality, performance, and reliability of existing products. You will ensure that relevant data, simulations and engineering knowledge are available early enough to support robust concept decisions. Mechanical Engineer
Build the hardware, own the platform At Frost Unmanned, you will be the engineer who turns our fixed-wing UAV from a design into a rugged, field-ready product. You will own the mechanical side of the platform: the structure, the component layout, the integration, and how it performs and holds up in real operations. You will have real influence over design decisions from day one. Frost Unmanned develops sovereign unmanned systems for defense and government customers: high-speed fixed-wing strike UAVs and unmanned surface vessels for maritime and coastal operations. We are a small team in Stora Höga, Stenungsund, moving from development into serial delivery. What you will do Lead CAD design of airframe structures, mechanical assemblies, and component layouts Set the aerodynamic and structural requirements for the platform, and work with our external simulation partners to verify their results Turn simulation data into design decisions on strength, weight, performance, and manufacturability Select, source, and integrate components and subsystems such as propulsion, fuel systems, and payloads. Design for the end user: how the system is unpacked, assembled, and made ready in the field Own the mechanical interface between the UAV and our pneumatic launcher Support mechanical work on our USV platform Take designs through prototyping, testing, and production, with drawings and documentation for our subcontractors What we are looking for Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience Several years of hands-on mechanical engineering, ideally with UAVs, aircraft, or other high-performance systems Strong CAD skills for lightweight structures and complex assemblies.
