Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, in Strategic Marketing
Department of Marketing and Strategy (DMS), Stockholm School of Economics The Department of Marketing and Strategy at the Stockholm School of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in strategic marketing. Please note that this is not an open-rank search; we are specifically seeking early-career scholars for appointment at the Assistant Professor level. Your profile We are looking for candidates with a completed Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from an accredited university or business school (EQUIS, AACSB, or AMBA). The candidate must have completed their doctoral degree prior to taking up the position. As a candidate, you should have a research background in the area of strategic marketing, such as market strategies or marketing strategies, and have an interest in conducting research that has practical implications for organizations. The successful candidate is expected to thrive in an inclusive, methodologically and theoretically pluralist research environment that aims to contribute to both academic knowledge and a better society. Candidates will have demonstrable strengths in both research and teaching. Your qualifications Candidates will have the ability to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed international journals, such as AJG (4/4*) and those on the FT50 list. This will be evidenced by publications, research pipeline, and a documented presence in the international research community. Reviewing experience from relevant journals is a merit. The candidates should have documented experience from teaching relevant courses at Bachelor and/or Master levels and must demonstrate teaching effectiveness as indicated by teaching evaluations, letters of recommendations and/or peer reviews. The standard teaching load for tenure-track faculty at SSE is 40%, typically corresponding to four courses per year. This load may be halved through external research grants. As the position is partially funded by a Browaldh research stipend, it carries a reduced teaching load of 20% (typically two courses per year) throughout the tenure-track period. In teaching and research, there are ample opportunities to engage in collaboration with the wide network of partner organizations at the Stockholm School of Economics, including ABB, Accenture, Ericsson, H&M, McKinsey & Co, Scania, SEB and many others. A variety of theoretical perspectives and research methods are thus employed. The department has a high-performance research orientation and culture. Head of Quality & Sustainability Management
At Icomera, we build technology that keeps people connected while they’re on the move. Every day, our solutions deliver fast, reliable internet and digital services on trains, trams, buses, and coaches - supporting millions of passengers across the world. Quality is how Icomera earns customer trust, and this role helps make it consistent across our products, services and ways of working. As rail helps make transport more sustainable, this role ensures Icomera advances that ambition while reducing the environmental impact of its own products and operations. Are you an experienced quality and sustainability leader who wants to shape how a global technology company works? As our Head of Quality & Sustainability Management, you will have the opportunity to modernize our management systems, develop a capable international team and amplify digital tools, automation and responsible AI to make quality and process management more effective and valuable across the organization About the Role As Head of Quality & Sustainability Management, you will lead and develop Icomera’s Process, Quality & Environmental function. You will be responsible for ensuring that our business processes, products, services and management systems support customer satisfaction, compliance, operational efficiency, environmental performance and continuous improvement. You will own and develop Icomera’s Quality and Environmental management systems, including our work relating to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. You will also coordinate our broader sustainability agenda, bringing together environmental activities, data, KPIs and reporting with sustainability work led by relevant specialists across the organization. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You will lead an international team of three direct reports and collaborate closely with senior leadership and colleagues in Sustainability, Finance, HR and IT, as well as stakeholders across Equans. You will influence without relying solely on formal authority, turn complex requirements into practical ways of working and help colleagues understand the business value of structured quality and process management. A key part of your mission will be to support Icomera’s ongoing transformation from predominantly manual process management towards modern, data-driven and AI-enabled ways of working. You will explore and implement effective tools for document, deviation and process management while ensuring that automation and AI are used responsibly, transparently and in line with relevant quality, risk, information security and compliance requirements. Key responsibilities Lead, support and develop the Quality & Environment team, setting clear objectives and creating an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, learning and ownership. Own and continuously improve Icomera’s Quality and Environmental management systems, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliance, audits, management reviews, corrective actions and risk management. Define and implement quality, environmental and process-management strategies that support customer satisfaction, operational performance, compliance and sustainable business development. Establish clear KPIs, targets and action plans for quality, environmental and process performance, assign ownership, monitor progress and provide regular, data-driven reporting to senior management. Drive the digitalization of processes and management systems by identifying and introducing suitable IT solutions, automation and responsible AI-enabled ways of working. Coordinate environmental and sustainability data, objectives, improvement activities and reporting, while partnering across Icomera and Equans to align expectations and translate requirements into effective local practices. Requirements Proven experience leading quality, process or environmental management in a complex organisation, preferably within technology, software, product development or a related industry. Strong practical knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, including management systems, management reviews, internal or external audits, findings and corrective actions. Previous people-management experience, with the ability to provide direction, develop team capability and create a collaborative and supportive working environment. Experience influencing senior stakeholders, leading cross-functional change and turning governance or compliance requirements into practical, value-adding ways of working. A relevant university degree, or equivalent education and professional experience within quality, environmental management, sustainability, engineering, technology or business processes. Fluency in spoken and written English, as the role operates in an international environment Meritorious: Knowledge of ISO 27001, information security or governance relating to responsible AI. Experience coordinating sustainability reporting, environmental data, KPIs or management reporting. Experience introducing digital process-management tools, automation or AI-enabled solutions. Swedish language skills. Who You Are You are a structured and forward-looking leader who combines strategic thinking with a willingness to engage in practical implementation. You understand that effective quality and environmental management depends on people, collaboration and clear communication as much as it depends on frameworks and standards. You communicate complex topics in an accessible way, build credibility with stakeholders at different levels and can create momentum even when priorities or responsibilities are not immediately clear. You are comfortable working across organisational boundaries, balancing different perspectives and making well-reasoned decisions in a changing environment. You create clarity without adding unnecessary bureaucracy. With curiosity about technology and modern ways of working, you can identify where data, digital tools, automation and responsible AI can simplify processes and generate measurable value. You also recognise the importance of governance, transparency and sound risk management when introducing new technology. As a people leader, you listen, coach and empower. You provide direction while giving team members the space and support they need to grow, collaborate and take ownership of their work.
