The Senior Scientist/Staff Research Engineer is responsible for scientific/technical leadership in downstream purification of biologic molecules. We are looking for a candidate with strong application expertise in plasma, including process development and biopharmaceutical manufacturing process understanding. In this role you will have the opportunity to turn new ideas into purification products for our customers around the globe. This position reports to the Senior Section Manager for Capture Applications within the Start-to-Finish Department in R&D, which is part of the Resins & Technologies Business Unit located in Uppsala, Sweden and will be an on-site role. The Start-to-Finish team focuses on applications for customers’ complete end-to-end processes and thought leadership. What you will do: Actively contribute in Research, New Product Development and Market Support projects as a chromatography subject matter expert. Design, evaluate and optimize new plasma purification solutions. Act as scientific/technology mentor within R&D and as lead/expert in external collaborations and customer support. Act as activity leader in project work. Contribute to scientific presence presenting posters and orals at conferences. Who you are: PhD or MSc in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Chemical engineering or corresponding relevant field. At least 5 years’ experience as a Scientist/Senior Research Engineer. Practical experience in chromatography purification of biomolecules in the biopharmaceutical field and subsequent analytic methods. Excellent communication skills. Ability to motivate and lead. Advanced English language (oral and writing), working proficiency in Swedish language. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: The Biopharma/Biologics Industry

The Senior Principal Scientist in Chromatography is responsible for scientific leadership in downstream purification. We are looking for a candidate with a strong application expertise in mAbs, Ab variants and other recombinant proteins, including process development expertise and biopharmaceutical manufacturing process understanding, with a deep understanding of chromatography fundamentals. This position reports to the Director for the Start to Finish Department in RnD, which is part of the Resins & Technologies Business Unit located in Uppsala, Sweden and will be an on-site role. The Start to Finish team focuses on application for customers complete end to end processes and thought leadership. What you will do: Support the organization as a chromatography Subject matter expert in Market Support and NPD projects. Actively work to identify and promote new business opportunities for Cytiva cross-functionally including but not limited to mAb (monoclonal antibody) and Ab (antibody) variants applications Drive innovation and strategy within the area of expertise. To take on responsibility as Project Manager for Research projects/Seed & Select activities if required Act as scientific/technology mentor for R&D personnel, not limited to the department. Who you are: PhD or equivalent experience At least 10 year experience of industrial development/R&D or scientific recognition At least 5 year experience as a Senior Scientist or equal High level external profile representing Bioprocess Proven record of scientific publications and/or IP Expertise in chromatography and protein purification with a deep understanding of chromatography fundamentals Strong communication skills Strong coaching and mentoring skills Executive presence, ability to communicate in a senior way with upper management Excellent English communication skills: Swedish is a plus To be successful in this role, we believe you demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to convey ideas with clarity across all levels of the organization. You bring a thoughtful approach to supporting colleagues, sharing expertise and offering guidance when needed. With a strong executive presence, you engage effectively with senior leadership and contribute to strategic discussions.
