Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi (IMBIM) vid Uppsala universitet erbjuder en bred, internationell miljö för forskning och undervisning i en kreativ och öppen atmosfär. Institutionens forskning bedrivs inom tre samverkande sektioner: Biokemi och cancer, Infektion och immunitet samt Genetik och genomik. IMBIM erbjuder stora möjligheter till tvärvetenskapligt samarbete med ledande forskningsmiljöer vid Uppsala universitet, däribland Uppsala Antibiotic Center, ENABLE-2 och SciLifeLabs forskningsinfrastruktur. IMBIM kommer att leda ett nationellt strategiskt forskningsområde inom antibiotikaresistens, som inrättas senare under detta år. Anställningen är placerad inom sektionen för Infektion och immunitet. Beskrivning av ämnesområdet Ämnesområdet omfattar antimikrobiell resistens, bakteriell patogenes, värd-patogeninteraktioner eller bakteriell fysiologi. Vi välkomnar kompetens inom molekylärbiologi, biokemi, genetik, infektionsbiologi och storskaliga molekylära metoder, inklusive genomik, proteomik, metabolomik, eller mikrobiomforskning. Arbetsuppgifter Den som anställs kommer att ha ett övergripande ansvar för forskning och forskarutbildning inom ämnesområdet medicinsk bakteriologi, samt handledning och undervisning på grundläggande nivå, avancerad nivå och forskarnivå. I anställningen ingår att leda en aktiv internationell forskargrupp i ämnet, samt att bidra till en positiv utveckling av forskning och utbildning inom ämnet i samverkan med fakultetens forskare och lärare. Administrativa arbetsuppgifter samt interna och externa förtroendeuppdrag kan förekomma. I anställningen ingår även att informera om forskning och utvecklingsarbete. Till arbetsuppgifterna hör att följa utvecklingen inom det egna ämnesområdet och samhällsutvecklingen i övrigt som har betydelse för arbetet vid universitetet. The subject area of animal reproduction encompasses fertility and reproduction in domesticated animals. It includes the subdisciplines of andrology, gynecology, obstetrics and mammary gland diseases, as well as biotechnology, endocrinology and toxicology relevant to the subject area. Duties The applicant will be expected to:  develop and lead internationally successful research; develop, lead and participate in teaching at first, second and third cycle level; primarily teach animal reproduction, in addition to other components at first, second and third cycle level covering the subject; develop and maintain national and international networks with academia, the relevant public authorities, industry, organisations and society at large; collaborate with other SLU research teams to strengthen interdisciplinary activities at the university; apply for external research funding from both national and international sources; supervise doctoral students (and Bachelor’s students undergoing specialist training); actively participate in clinical work and teaching; contribute to the strategic development of the department, faculty and SLU; communicate research findings and other relevant information to society at large; perform administrative duties within the department, faculty and university.  The department uses Swedish and English in parallel.
