Software Test Engineer, Verification & Test Automation - Real Heart

Västerås·Mjukvarutestare

Would you like to help build the world’s best artificial heart – a technology that could save the lives of people suffering from severe heart failure? Scandinavian Real Heart (Realheart) is a Swedish company developing and manufacturing an artificial heart that mimics the anatomy and function of the human heart. In Västerås, where the company was originally founded, our team is working to take the technology from development to clinical reality. Realheart is listed on Nasdaq First North Growth and has recently announced its goal of being ready for implantation in its first patient in February 2028. About the role We are hiring a Software Test Engineer to own software verification for a Class III medical device system spanning embedded firmware, desktop applications and the communication between them. This is a verification role in the regulatory sense: you will derive test cases from approved software requirements, demonstrate objectively that the software meets them, and produce the traceable, auditable evidence that supports the design history file and technical documentation. You will also develop and maintain the automation that makes verification repeatable. Using a Python-based test framework integrated with CI/CD, you will help turn regression testing from extensive manual work into reliable pipeline-driven execution. You will analyse software requirements and design specifications for testability, ambiguity and measurable acceptance criteria. You will create verification plans, protocols and test cases, select and justify suitable verification methods, define expected results and pass/fail criteria, and maintain traceability from requirement through execution record to result. The role also includes executing protocols under configuration control, documenting objective evidence, managing deviations and amendments, investigating defects, and writing verification reports. You will contribute to design reviews and audits by clearly explaining and defending the verification approach. On the automation side, you will design, build and maintain test frameworks and automated suites across unit, integration and system levels. This includes developing test harnesses, simulators, stubs and fixtures, as well as supporting hardware-in-the-loop testing where appropriate. You will integrate suites into GitHub Actions and help ensure that automated results can serve as reliable verification evidence. About you You have experience of working with software testing in a regulated environment and understand the importance of disciplined design control, configuration management and technical documentation. You are comfortable moving between detailed test work and the broader verification argument, and you can distinguish between requirement, implementation and test defects. To succeed in the role, you combine a rigorous, structured approach with practical engineering judgement. You communicate clearly in English and enjoy collaborating closely with software, firmware, systems and QA/RA colleagues to keep requirements, code and tests aligned. What we offer This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of verification in a complex medical device environment and to contribute to both the verification process and the automation infrastructure that supports it. You will work across embedded firmware, desktop applications and connected interfaces, with a clear opportunity to influence templates, tooling and workflows as verification needs evolve. We welcome you to be a central member of our highly skilled and engaged team. Application We look forward to receiving your application. The application period runs from 18 September 2026 to 18 October 2026. For more information please feel welcome to contact Anna Nordanstig +46 70 306 55 64. Interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the closing date. Requirements Experience of software testing in medical devices or another comparably regulated industry, such as aerospace, automotive, rail, nuclear, defence or regulated pharma/IVD. Understanding of formal design control or safety lifecycles, including the distinction between design verification and design validation. Demonstrated experience of requirements-driven test design, including defining objective acceptance criteria, maintaining traceability, and producing verification protocols and reports suitable for audit. Experience of building and maintaining automated test suites, including framework design, test data management and test fixtures. Experience of version control, change control and formal defect management. Strong technical documentation skills, with attention to detail and traceability. Strong spoken and written English. Preferred qualifications A Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science or a closely related technical field; equivalent demonstrable experience is also valued. Working familiarity with .NET/C# and C++, including the ability to read code, understand architecture and create meaningful integration tests. Practical Python experience for test automation, using a framework such as pytest, unittest or Robot Framework. CI/CD experience, particularly GitHub Actions, including workflow YAML, runners, matrices, secrets, caching and artifacts. Experience of IEC 62304 software lifecycle activities, including software safety classification, testing expectations, SOUP management and anomaly evaluation. Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, EU MDR technical documentation and IEC 62366 usability engineering. Experience of ALM or requirements-management tools such as Polarion, Jama, Codebeamer, DOORS or Azure DevOps, including generating trace matrices. Experience of embedded or hardware-adjacent testing, for example serial protocols, CAN bus, instrument control, logic analysers, test rigs or hardware-in-the-loop frameworks. Experience of static analysis, code coverage measurement and their role in software verification. Experience of FDA inspections, notified body audits, or regulatory submissions such as 510(k), PMA or CE submissions. Exposure to cybersecurity testing for connected medical devices.

QA and Test Lead

Orebro·Testledare

One of Nordic Investin’s partner companies is looking for a QA and Test Lead, with Nordic Investin leading the recruitment process. You can create a quality strategy that teams understand, own and use when delivery pressure rises. The partner is delivering a complex platform change across several systems and suppliers. You will lead test planning, coordinate evidence and make sure critical user journeys are verified from component level through business acceptance. The team works across disciplines and expects quality to be shaped throughout discovery and delivery. You will have space to challenge assumptions, make evidence visible and improve how decisions are made. How you will work You will join multidisciplinary delivery rather than operate as a final approval step. The partner expects early questions, rapid feedback and clear evidence about what users and systems need. You will help teams decide what to test, measure or prototype before committing to an expensive direction. As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. The role still includes hands on delivery; seniority here means broader judgement, not distance from the work. What you will do Define the overall test strategy and risk based scope. Connect requirements and use cases with verifiable test coverage. Coordinate environments, data, teams and external dependencies. Lead defect triage and readiness reporting. Guide automation priorities and non functional testing. Communicate quality risk clearly to project and business leadership. What you will bring Extensive test leadership in complex technology programmes. Strong requirements, integration and acceptance testing experience. Ability to plan across several teams and release stages. Evidence based reporting and defect management. Understanding of test automation and modern delivery methods. Professional English; Swedish may be required for public partners. Experience that would add value Procurement or implementation of a major business system. Performance, security or resilience test coordination. Experience in healthcare, government or another regulated domain. A background that can succeed here You may come from hands on testing, business analysis or programme quality management. The partner needs someone who can discuss detail with engineers and provide a concise risk view to decision makers. What makes the opportunity interesting This role gives you a central position in a consequential change programme. You will shape how quality is demonstrated and help the organisation make release decisions based on evidence rather than optimism. The exact partner, employment model, compensation, start date and working arrangement will be explained openly during the process. Nordic Investin will make sure you understand the context, expectations and decision path before you are asked to commit significant time. The recruitment conversation During the process, Nordic Investin will focus on concrete decisions you have made: the context you received, the alternatives you considered, the result you observed and what you would change today. You do not need every optional technology if your core experience transfers and you can explain how you would close the gap. How to apply Apply with your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short note describing the most relevant system, product or transformation you have helped deliver. Nordic Investin welcomes candidates with different routes into technology and assesses applicants on relevant capability, judgement and potential.

Test Automation Engineer

Nordic Investin has been engaged by a partner company to find a Test Automation Engineer. You enjoy building fast, trustworthy feedback that helps engineers release more often with less guesswork. The partner is improving quality engineering across web services and APIs. You will develop automated tests, strengthen testability and work with developers to move defect discovery earlier without creating a brittle test estate. The team works across disciplines and expects quality to be shaped throughout discovery and delivery. You will have space to challenge assumptions, make evidence visible and improve how decisions are made. Experience moving from manual to automated quality practices. A background that can succeed here You may be a developer who specialised in quality or a tester who developed strong coding skills. We value engineers who improve the system of delivery rather than simply increasing the number of test cases. What makes the opportunity interesting You will influence architecture, pipelines and team habits, not only a separate test phase. The role offers varied technical work and outcomes that show up in faster feedback and more confident releases. The exact partner, employment model, compensation, start date and working arrangement will be explained openly during the process. Nordic Investin will make sure you understand the context, expectations and decision path before you are asked to commit significant time. QA Automation Engineer to Oplane

Malmö·Mjukvarutestare

The Story With AI tools accelerating how software is built, code is being shipped faster than ever before. This acceleration comes with a major catch, being architectural and security risks are accumulating just as fast. That’s where Oplane, a Malmö based tech startup comes in. They are on a mission to make secure software the default for teams building at AI speed. Instead of patching things up afterwards, they embed security by design directly into the agentic workflow, running automated threat modeling and delivering real time, inline fixes straight into modern developer tools. A recent $5.2 million seed round led by Seed Capital and Icebreaker vc, with backing from prominent tech investors from the Neo4j and Google ecosystems, is the direct driver behind expanding the engineering team right now. The Way They Build Agentic coding with Claude Code and Cursor is not a weekend experiment here, it is the core of how they ship software. The code is explicitly structured to optimize AI development, producing clear, modular architecture that both humans and AI agents can safely navigate and evolve. Your Mission & Impact As a QA Automation Engineer, you will step in at a crucial early stage to transition from traditional, handwritten test automation to the forefront of AI agentic workflows. The job is to design, experiment with, and implement fully automated testing flows driven by AI agents. Instead of spending your days writing and maintaining test scripts yourself, you will design the frameworks and flows where AI agents generate and execute Unit, Integration, and EndtoEnd (E2E) tests. What you will actually spend your days doing: Agentic QA Workflows: Build and set up automated test pipelines for both frontend and backend where AI agents write and run the tests. AI Instruction & Orchestration: Guide AI agents in generating test scripts using modern tools like Playwright or Selenium, while taking ownership of the automation architecture and applying your engineering judgment to ensure high-quality outcomes Quality & Verification: Act as a gatekeeper by reviewing, validating, and refining AI generated test suites before they reach production. Environment Optimization: Structure the testing environments to ensure AI agents can navigate, understand, and work within them as effectively as possible. Who You Are You are a QA professional who thrives in the dynamic environment of an early stage startup, bringing the autonomy and technical ownership needed to build things from the ground up. What you bring to the table: Automation Expertise: Solid experience in test automation using modern tools like Playwright, Selenium, or similar. Fullstack Understanding: A strong, practical comprehension of both backend and frontend development concepts. The AI Drive: A genuine curiosity to transition from traditional test automation to an AI agentic workflow, utilizing tools like Claude Code and Cursor daily. (Note: If you have extensive automation experience but haven't worked agentically yet, the passion to learn is what matters most). Work Authorization: Full eligibility to work in Sweden. The Setup The Team: You will join a sharp, technical team of founders and engineers who move fast, collaborate closely and are deeply passionate about technology. The Vibe: High bandwidth, real life collaboration is key here. This is a 100% onsite role at Oplane's office in central Malmö, where the team works closely to maximize execution and speed. Ready to build the future of AI security? Apply right now, or reach out to us at Qlose if you want to know more about the team and the journey ahead.
